The point about a kitchen radio is that you should only have to buy one once or twice in your life. They’re purely utilitarian items – you don’t really care too much about sound quality or looks of a kitchen radio. Their job is to sit there for years on end, next to the toaster, pumping out the Top 40 on Radio One or The Archers on Radio Four.
The Dualit DAB Kitchen Radio is the last ever kitchen radio you’ll have to buy. Just look at it – it could survive a bomb blast. And I love the 1940s/50s styling. So damn functional. It’s not cheap (£199) but as anyone who owns a Dualit toaster knows, the company makes stuff that is built to last. Btw, it’s also available in black or cream, but the chrome version (pictured) looks the best. I want one. BUY IT
