1 ASTON MARTIN DB5

The classic Bond car, by a mile. Fitted with machine guns, radar, a bullet shield and the all-important ejector seat, it is still the most famous car in the history of 007 movies. In Goldfinger, the DB5 crashes into a brick wall after a chase involving a couple of black Mercedes, but it was revived for a brief appearance in Thunderball. The Sean Connery of Bond cars (in other words, the best and most stylish).

And the best of the rest

2 LOTUS ESPRIT

Everyone remembers the white Esprit which cunningly doubled as a submarine, in The Spy Who Loved Me. A turbo Esprit also featured in For Your Eyes Only (one of the poorest Bond films) in 1981.

3 SUNBEAM ALPINE

In his first celluloid outing, in Dr No, Bond hits the road in a rented Sunbeam Alpine that features in a thrilling car chase along Jamaican mountain roads.

4 DERBY BENTLEY
St39
This is the car that 007 drove in Ian Fleming’s Bond books. It features briefly in From Russia With Love.

5 CITROEN 2CV

Roger Moore’s Bond took a very-short-cut down a mountainside in a battered yellow 2CV, in For Your Eyes Only. The car was voted ‘Most Popular Bond Car’ in a recent survey.
