Finest hour Bobby has had a phenominal record at just about every club he's managed. He won the league with PSV in Holland, the Spanish Cup with Barca and a Quarter Final and Semi Final of the World Cup with the English national side. However, apart from all this, his finest moment was with Ipswich Town. He carried the Tractor Boys from a very average side, at the lower reaches of the top flight to dizzying heights. From 1972 until Robson left the club in 1982, Ipswich only once finished outside of the top six in the league and qualified for Europe eight seasons out of nine. Although the dream of the league championship eluded Robson (Ipswich finished as runners-up in 1981 and 1982) he won the FA Cup in 1978 and the UEFA Cup in 1981. The FA Cup winning team contained only three players who had not come through the youth system.
Did you know? Robson made twenty appearances for the England team. His debut came in November 1957 in a victory against France, in which he scored two goals. Is there no end to this man's talents? Ok, we won't dwell on the fact he used to call Shola Ameobi 'Carl Cort'.
