10 reasons why the Apple iPhone sucks
Alarmingly, the whole world seems to have gone crazy for Apple's newly announced iPhone, like it was some magical biscuit made out of crack cocaine. But the man from Brandish, he say 'no' to crack...
1 Couldn't you have come up with a smarter name? You didn't call the MacBook the iLaptop, did you? Given Apple's track record of modesty, how about the 'iGenius', or the 'iReinvented The Phone, Honest'.
2 Google Maps, yay, but no GPS functionality? Come on - if you're going to 'reinvent' the phone, GPS should be in there. Several high-end phones have it, so why not the iPhone?
3 As sister site Tech Digest points out, Apple are only making one
million iPhones; Nokia sold 40 million high-end mobiles last year.
There is
going to be huge demand which Apple surely won't be able to meet.
4 Five hours battery life for non-audio use? Wow!

5 Can't wait to walk around London with it pressed to my ear. Hmm, I could just make a sign saying 'Mug me' to speed up the process...
6 Fingers constantly smudging the screen. Yes, we're sure the touchscreen UI is wondrous, but watching video on a screen covered in fingerprints... great!
7 It's pretty big for a phone - bigger than the Treo 750 and the BlackBerry Pearl anyway.
8 Do people really want One Gadget to Rule Them All. We quite like having a phone and an MP3 player and a camera. And the iPhone's 2MP camera doesn't exactly thrill us.
9 As Nokia commented: What, no 3G?
10 Here in the UK, even if we wanted to, we couldn't get our hands on one for almost a year (except for the odd overpriced model on eBay) - and that's if Apple hits its deadline. Steve Jobs,
you are a fricking tease. And stop reinventing stuff. And get a new outfit already.

Regardless of whatever statistics there may be out there I am calling bullshit. Apple blew everyone out of the water with the iPod because it simply worked, and I feel sure the iPhone will do even better. People will realize they are dealing with a user interface that is actually pleasant, and it will blow the others out of the water. Like when you see someone using an iPod and someone using the non-iPod standing side by side. The one using the non-iPod looks like there is a rope being pulled from his ass but trying to enjoy it. The one using the iPod looks like he is enjoying life.

Has anyone taken into account how terrible Cingular, Bellsouth, Suncom uh AT&T whatever u call it's network is. Oversold, and lowly rated by Consumer Reports. What good is Iphone if you can't use it. Only 28 more days till I can change providers. No phone is worth it.

I am the publisher of Nevada Magazine and a long time apple user. I recently ( August 17th) purchased an i-phone from the apple store in Reno Nevada. I specifically told them that I work in an all apple office and only used apple computers at home and I wanted to be sure I could transfer my phone numbers from my ATT phone - which happens to be an LG. I was told this was not a problem and the ATT store could in fact transfer all to a thumb drive and I could transfer numbers via i-tunes to my phone. It is more than a month later now and I have spent countless hours at ATT store - on their customer service line and on the apple help line as well as at two apple stores and the final outcome is as follows - If you do not have a PC - you cannot transfer your phone contacts from ANY ATT phone to your i-phone. It seems that this is a major oversight on your part, since the current apple users are the first people to buy and embrace your new product. You should also be aware that I have called over 20 ATT stores and have recorded their employees over and over telling me that transferring date from my ATT phone to my apple is "no problem". Your apple help desk was not even aware of this issue and offered no solutions. I have visited two different apple stores and had over 10 of your "genius" guys tell me - ATT can do this for me - "no problem". ATT and Apple - I think we have a problem - anyone else have this going on - can you say class action law suit?

Just purchased an iphone: last month. Still do not have one that works. ATT+Apple relationship is stillborn. Numbers not transferred from old razr to iphone AND iphone on setup went from one bar to five bars to no bars and stayed non-functional. I returned THE SAME DAY to the ATT store and was told it was the sim card. So I took out the sim card, put it in their demo iphone and is worked flawlessly. Then they said I could return the phone to them for a $50 restocking fee (!!!) or send it to Apple. After two hours on the phone with Apple and ATT Apple is YET to deliver a working phone to me. But today I got a free bluetooth headset from them for the trouble. My jury is still out, but I am pretty sure that I will not be able to get the sour taste washed out of my mouth from this bad beginning.

I love my iPhone. Its does everything I need it to do. Best phone I've owned. You guys sound silly complaining about a damn phone, lol. You expected way too much from it. WHY would Apple put ALL the bells and whistles in their FIRST version phone? Doesn't make any business sense. If you don't like the phone, DONY BUY IT, simple. If you're into ipods fine.If not buy a Blackjack or an Htc 8525,both of these phones operate with windows and have 3g data speeds.They'll mimick your home computer on the go.The iphones are all about the touchscreen and a lot memory,but you can buy memory cards for the other phones too and the 8525 also works on wifi.

Actually I have to disagree with you there. I got an iPhone for Christmas yesterday and even though I haven't had it unlocked yet to use as a phone its still one of the best gadgets I've ever used. The reason nobody wants it in the UK is the rediculous price of the contract. If you get it unlocked like I'm doing then its not bad value though. And just to correct a few items in the list, the screen does collect fingerprints but they honestly don't affect the viewing quality of the screen at all. Do I want the one gadget to rule them all? Yes... It doesn't need frickin gps, its supposed to be a sort of flashy poser phone with some nice features (well I admit to that). Yep, I'm done. I wrote this on the iphone btw.
