Looking for a Japanese Girlfriend Tee

By mofgimmers on February 20th, 2007

Japanesegirlfriend
Many of us know that there are a lot of very nice looking Japanese girls out there. Well, for those of you who would like a Japanese girlfriend, maybe this is your best bet.

This T-shirt from ThinkGeek features clear, clean text and a message that is perhaps best translated as "Now accepting applications for Japanese girlfriends." It features a nice red "rising sun of Japan" in the design, and you never know what conversation this T-shirt could start, or where it might lead!

The Tee is 100% heavyweight cotton and is going for $16.99 – $18.49 (presumably dependant on what size you get it in)

Samsung X830 Mobile Phone

By mofgimmers on February 20th, 2007

Swish_phone

Mobile phones are getting slicker by the second. Now you can have super suave design with all the hi-tech wizardy as well. It’s called having your cake and scoffing it down in one. Well, one of the coolest phones on the market is the Samsung X830, going for $335.

Available in black, orange, white and pink, the tri-band GSM phone has 1GB of memory onboard and can be used as a standalone MP3 player. It also has features like Bluetooth and EDGE support, bit what’s most cool is the rotate-to-open design. Try doing that with a clamshell. It’s also incredibly small, at 72g, so it won’t feel like it’s pulling your slacks down.

This Shirt Belongs To… You!

By mofgimmers on February 20th, 2007

Thisshirtbelongsto This is one of the most unique and brilliant sweatshirts this scribe has ever seen. It features a great little retro logo that says ‘This Shirt Belongs To…’ which, if so desired, can see you adding your own name like you did on those stickers you had as a bairn.

In the soft gray sweatshirt by fred flare you’ll look like a
superstar… plus, everyone will know your
name! It’s available in unisex size and currently in the sale for a measly $19.99 which works out at roughly a tenner.

Simple Sloppy Toe Lace Up

By mofgimmers on February 19th, 2007

Shoe
Fashion and morals don’t always go hand-in-hand. Usually, cool stuff is made in dodgy places, and clothes with morals look like something dragged out of Glastonbury Fesitval (ie, not cool at all and quite possibly tie-dye). Well, thankfully, someone has decided to merge the two and make something really stylish and ecologically sound.

These lace-up chukka boots made from renewable materials, because global warming is no joke. These shoes come with good morals as well as textured crepe rubber soles and contrast stitching. These are just as comfortable as they are environmentally responsible.

To you sir, a measly $90.

Leroy Jenkins custom floral hoody

By ShinyMedia on February 16th, 2007

Hood_white_1_1
Blimey, perhaps if all those nasty hooded chavs were forced to wear a smart floral top like this, rather than the usual sports brands, then they’d be less inclined to beat each other up, film it on their mobiles, and post it on YouTube for kicks. £130 from Flatspot’s online store: BUY IT

PS. Leroy Jenkins is a relatively new clothing brand, and one that I guess is named after the legendary Leeeeeeeeeeroy Jenkins, internet superstar and useless World of Warcraft player.

Gaggia 74886 Deluxe Espresso & Capuccino maker

By ShinyMedia on February 16th, 2007

Picture_2_110
Gaggia coffee machines sell so well because they prize function over form – which is great, because making a cup of coffee is essentially a functional process. They’re pretty basic machines at heart, easy to use and they last forever. This model does both a mean espresso and a delicious capaccino, or, as old people like to call them, ‘expresso’ and ‘campuchino’. Bless old people and their comedy mispronunciations.

8-ball ashtray

By ShinyMedia on February 16th, 2007

Picture_1_281It costs loads, it stinks up your clothes and it can kill you. Yes, smoking is very, very bad in so many different ways – can you tell that Brandish is now a reformed, self-righteous non-smoker? – but if you have to do it, at least use a stylish ashtray, rather than a mug or silver-foil Mr Kipling tray. This 8-ball model is something of a design classic, with its clever push-and-spin top, easily deployed to hide unsightly ash. BUY IT from Urban Outfitters, for just £8.

Kenneth Cole unveils ‘NYC Condom’

By Isabelle on February 15th, 2007

Pic
Kenneth Cole braved the blizzard and snow in New York yesterday to unveil an NYC Condom with each letter in a colored circle in the style of the subway line logos. The designer has been promoting AIDS and HIV awareness for over ten years, and on Valentine’s Day yesterday in association with the New York City health department over 150,000 condoms were handed out in New York. Cole is also promoting a ‘safe-tee’ and boxer shorts; both come with condom pockets and a tag with the phrase: "Safety instruction: this garment and its contents should be worn whenever conceivable." The garments cost $35 and are available at Kenneth Cole stores throughout the US.

Bravado Guns N’ Roses rock t-shirt

By ShinyMedia on February 15th, 2007

L0000dc0112010014010
I’ve had it up to here with people wearing rock t-shirts in an ironic fashion – you’ve 19 years old and you’ve never heard a single track by The Ramones, you muppet – but in the case of Guns N’ Roses, there’s no irony at all. Because, let’s face it, everyone loves a bit of ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ or ‘Sweet Child of Mine’. This tee features the classic GN’R skull-in-top hat logo. It’s enough to make me want to play the whole of Appetite for Destruction at a very high volume. I’m off…

Urban Outfitters python hip flask

By ShinyMedia on February 15th, 2007

Picture_3_55
Every man needs a good hip flask in his arsenal. Anything that is specifically designed to hold booze and slips neatly into your coat pocket is bloody essential. However, most hip flasks are essentially quite dull to look at. Not this faux-python-skin model though. It’s the sort of hip flask Indiana Jones might pack, next to his bullwhip – although his would be made from real python skin – cause, as we all know, Indy ‘hates snakes’. Available from Urban Outfitters, for £13. BUY IT

An Argyll pattern on a trainer? Hmm, these skate shoes are so damn crazy they might just work. Dekline is not a brand you see adorning the feet of many people in Britain, which is probably a good thing – it’s nice to stand out from the crowd sometimes. These Villains boast a suede and canvas upper, padded tongue and rubber sole. Available for a very reasonable £39.99, from Hardcloud.com. BUY THEM

Topman Striped Grandad Top

By mofgimmers on February 14th, 2007

Grandad_top
On the high-street, it can be difficult for blokes to find good gear, often having to swerve the stores to dive into the quirkier styles of the boutiques.

However, Topman have designed a great grandad top that is cool enough to wear on its own, or coupled up with something a bit smarter. From a distance, it looks like it’s pink, but on closer inspection, it’s a fine red and white stripe (just in case you want to be macho about it). It’s a limited run and will set you back £40.
