Linen herringbone three-button blazer

By mofgimmers on February 14th, 2007

Blazer_1

The weather, believe it or not, is warming up slightly. So, with the sun finally managing to peak his head out, it’s time to start planning on what to wear when it’s too cold for your duffel coat. A good place to start is a casual blazer. This linen herringbone three-button blazer will keep it cool and look great. It’s 100% linen and partially lined to keep you fresh while still looking dynamite.

It’s got neat detail too with a notched lapel and three button front. The two exterior pockets will help the jacket keep it’s shape as well as a neat single back vent. Be warned though, as it’s linen, it’s dry clean only, so look after it! Currently going for a decent $295.

Paul Smith birds shirt

By Isabelle on February 14th, 2007

Something to impress the ladies this evening. I know it’s a bit OTT, but I love this Paul Smith shirt. Dress it down with charcoal grey trousers and minimalist trainers to show the beaded, knotted and embroidered shirt off to its best. Wearing something a bit different shows you’re not afraid to experiment with fashion, and as long as you’re not trying to rock novelty socks or musical ties you’ll be getting the thumbs up from me.

Paul Smith Jumper

By mofgimmers on February 13th, 2007

Paulsmithjumper

This Paul Smith jumper is simple but great.  It’s an effective red on cream striped knitted crew neck jumper with long sleeves and made from 100% cotton. It’s going for £95, which is a little pricey, but you’re getting something from one of the masters of clothing design, so you can’t really grumble.

American readers will be sad to hear that this particular item isn’t available to you, but I’m sure you have some pals in the UK that you could ask nicely to send one over. Also available in black and white for the Parisian in you.

Bonsai Sheepskin Sandals

By mofgimmers on February 13th, 2007

Bonsai_sandals

Ah. Sandals. After years of avoiding them, I’m finally down with them. Just in the nick of time too with these brilliant Bonsai Sandals which can be worn in the summer or winter due to a great sheepskin lined sole.

The high-grade (and genuine) sheepskin allow Bonsais to keep your feet warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Although, if you wear ‘em in winter, it’ll probably be indoors as opposed to accompanying your journey to the paper shop. These will also mould to your feet, as well as let them breathe so they won’t end up stinking your house out! Essential and reasonable at $34.95 (roughly £18). BUY THEM

Giant Anthem Zero pro mountain bike

By ShinyMedia on February 12th, 2007

Anthem_zero
At £2,999, the Anthem Zero, by Giant, is what we would consider a very expensive mountain bike – I mean, you could buy a second-hand BMW for less. We’re not a specialist mountain bike site, so we won’t go into all the specs and stiff. We will say that this is one shit-hot, competition-standard bit of kit, hardly any different from the wheels used by Giant’s pro riders – ie. it’s very light, very high-tech and very fast. Don’t expect to keep that pristine white paint-job free of mud splatters though. You don’t want people thinking you just bought it ’cause it looks cool… BUY IT

Kellogg’s Frosties old-school t-shirt. It’s greeeeeaaaat!

By ShinyMedia on February 12th, 2007

In the real world, tigers probably don’t eat sugar-frosted flakes, but we can forgive Kellogg’s for not knowing that, because Tony the Tiger (Anthony to his mum) is one of our all-time favourite cereal-related characters. He’s positive, he doesn’t eat people alive and he has a really greeeeaaat catchphrase.

By wearing this splendid t-shirt, you can pledge your allegiance to Tony and all that he stands for. Available from Urban Outfitters, for £28. BUY IT

Vintage Vinyl Record Bowl

By ShinyMedia on February 12th, 2007

Picture_2_108
We’re absolutely loving these vintage record bowls, made from classic vinyl LPs. Choose from rock or jazz genres for a unique piece of homeware. They’re not suitable for keeping liquids in (the hole in the middle kind of makes that a no-no), but for anything else you might want to keep in a bowl – nuts, popcorn, Quality Street – they’re perfect. Available from Elsewares for $26 (plus whatever p&p it costs to get delivered to the UK). BUY IT

Haynes Manual bag

By Isabelle on February 12th, 2007

Sbhay011
Ah the Haynes Manual, brings back memories of when my dad was a mechanic. He would come in from the garage at night, wash his oily hands in Swarfega and then show us all the terrible injuries he’d sustained during the day over a Fosters or Supermalt (for him) and Turkish Delights (for me and my sister). Fond memories aside, the distinctive design of the Haynes Manual has become a classic and how better to show your car geekery roots than with a Haynes bag? It features a ‘groovy’ VW camper van and costs £17.99 from Hiccup gifts where you can buy matching Haynes mugs, keyrings and wallets. What I want to know is when they’re bringing out the Opel Kadett bag or the Nissan Sunny bag?

John Varvatos suede boot

By mofgimmers on February 9th, 2007

Suede_bootWith the weather being a bit bleak at the moment, you’ll need something a bit more robust than a pair trusty (but scuffed) trainers. With a lot of men shying away from shoes for fear of being a bit too formal, let us help by attracting you to these great boots John Varvatos.

These suede will set you back $298 (about £150), and are will make you look a bit smarter than your average desert boot wearer. You could wear these to work, out and about and down the pub. These are really good all-rounders and well worth purchasing.

Yardie Cardigan

By mofgimmers on February 9th, 2007

Cardigan

The Yardie Cardigan is a luxurious number that is made from a luxurious cashmere-wool mix. It was based on the original Duffer Yardie Cardie and is available in two colours (blue and the featured ‘chocolate chip’). Reminscent of the classic teddy knits from the late fifties and early sixties, the Yardie has three vertical stripes that run down either side of the cardigan in a lighter shade with fully fashioned patch pockets.

Specially made Duffer shank buttons in enamel match the body colour of the cardigan and the cardigan is neatly capped off with finely ribbed hem and cuffs, giving it a much better shape and fit when being worn. It was £150, but is now on sale for £59. Knits are in, and the weather makes it the perfect time to get in on it. BUY IT
