Onitsuka Tiger Rakugaki

Fresh in for their autumn/winter ’07 collection, Onitsuka have "rakugakied" up a selection of their footwear. Rakugaki roughly translates to "scribble" from Japanese and that’s exactly what it looks like someone has has done to the Mexico 66s (bottom) and Samatores (top). These aren’t out in the UK for a while but, because I desperately want a pair myself, I’ll let you know as soon as they are.

In the meantime, check out the Onitsuka website, which has a custom shoe design program developed by origami artist Shin Tanaka. The program allows you to customise and build your own shoe. In paper mind you. And at about half the size of a normal shoe. However, if you take a photo of your creation and email it to Onitsuka, you will be in with a chance to win a real-life wearable pair of OT kicks!
