Mary Portas tackles menswear for a new series of Mary Queen of Shops

Mary Portas is back for a second series of her
hit tv show "Mary Queen of Shops" and this time she’s tackling
menswear. She said: "The core middle market for men is very hard. How
many solo menswear shops do you see on the high street?" Portas is
known for transforming Harvey Nichols and turning it into a vital
fashion retailer and on the last series worked her magic on four
independent boutiques using rebranding, window-dressing and stock
revamps to improve sales. Menswear is a much more difficult market than womenswear as Portas makes clear: "It’s very hard to build a complete men’s retail brand on its own". She is looking for struggling fashion
boutiques to take part in this new series which she describes as not "a
makeover show; we’re giving them real business guidance" If you think
