Trainer lacing techniques from Sneaker Freaker

After finding the many ways to tie a shoelace I kind of feel like I’ve been missing out on something important. Sneaker Freaker have illustrated shoelace aficionado Ian Fieggen’s lacing techniques for our education. With names like ‘The Bushwalk’ and ‘The Zipper’ sounding like more like a dance than something to do with shoelaces and with fifteen different styles to choose from lacing your trainers will never be the same. My favourite is the delightfully decorative Lattice, and I think my least favourite is the the Footbag. It sounds like an insult and looks like rubbish; I’m sure it’s good for people with unusually wide toes though.

Footbag, of course, refers to the fine art of kicking that little bag around in a ring (hacky sack in the US, I think?). That lacing style is very utilitarian indeed.
