iWood - the iPhone cover made from trees

Iwood_2 A couple of weeks ago we reported on the Incase iPhone cover, with it's distinctive organic style that looked as though it was carved from mahogany. At the time, I thought it was the best cover out there, as it was both aesthetically pleasing and practical.

However, it looks as the though the Incase cover has been usurped by Miniot, which goes one better in the au naturel stakes - the case actually is made from wood.  The iWood by Miniot (from £45) comes in four different hardwood types, from oak to cherry, and you can even order an iPhone dock in the matching material.

The iWood, especially in the darker wood types, gives the iPhone a cool, anachronistic look, but I still think it's for serious iPhone heads only, especially as it's not exactly the most ecologically friendly way of protecting your device. I wouldn't be surprised if I came across some sort of animal-skin based cover in the future. iSeal, anyone?

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT.

Miniot sent me a badly made excuse for a case, the product was damaged out of the box, i ordered a logo- they got the placement and size of it wrong, the power button did not line up right and ended up dinging my phone, furthermore there are metal rods inthe back which they shoddily cover and of you don't look to make sure they will scratch the back of your phone.

Miniot is a horrible company which refused to take responsibility for the damage there crappy case did to my phone, and refused to try and send me a working one....my suspicion is that all of them are slightly messed- they even admitted to me that the tolerances are still changing.....

GREAT PRODUCT IN THEORY, BUT FAR LESS THAN PERFECT.

Seems a lot more environmentally friendly that some plastic junk- it's organic, biodegradable, and renewable.
