Nike’s inappropriately named “Air Stab” trainers

Granitenikeairstabprofile

This is just a casual observation, but don’t you think that Nike could have chosen a more suitable name than "Stab" for their latest trainer drop? Considering that Nike is one of the most desired labels amongst the young, urban population, those most affected by knife crime (and, it seems, the cause of it in many cases), Nike could have been a little more sensitive. Or is it me who is being too sensitive? Let us know your views.

I love the trainers themselves, with Nike taking a note from the New Balance camp in the design of the uppers and the silhouette. The simple, granite colour is cool too, with greys having made in roads into men’s footwear over the last couple of seasons.

Errm… Stab’s are a retro remake… They were first made in the early 80’s as a STABility running shoe. Nothing to do with stabbing people…
And as far as the NB reference… These were around long before New Balance were on the scene…

    Well, you certainly told me!

I remember when these first came out. However despite them being a classic it would probably be for the best all round if the name was amended.

The tag of these kreps is almost as cool The Klaxons.

Stab are my favourite sneaks ever, changing the name would break my heart, really.

Lol the name design and colours make them great
