Today (Friday) is the first day of 7th On Sale, the world’s biggest sample sale, where all proceeds go to providing care and services to those living with AIDS and HIV. Hundreds of designers have donated items which will go on sale at special shopping events in New York over this week-end. For those of us outside NYC, eBay are also taking part in the initiative, giving us the opportunity to bid on new items every day till 6th December. Each item starts at 10% of the retail price so there’s potential bargains to be had. Those nice people from the MAC AIDS fund will be matching each dollar spent.
There isn’t much information on where the money will go, but most of the charities supported through the scheme so far seem to be US based.
At the time of writing, there’s only a couple of men’s items posted, and if I may be brutally frank, I wouldn’t beg either of them. I will be checking back on a regular basis though as I’m hoping to snag these Tom Ford slippers.
