We’ve been waiting for the latest issue of Fantastic Man with baited breath and not only does it have a beautifully footnoted interview with Tom Ford but it also features Scott Schuman (aka The Sartorialist, but you know that) and a beautifully photographed Maurice Sheltens shoot showing how to pack your clothes properly.
The designer talks about his art collection and his time in New York at the tail end of the ’70s. He also discusses the sexuality that runs through all his creative endeavours: ‘Sex is part of my image’ he says. ‘I’m extremely sensual. If I like someone I want to touch them, if I love them I want to hold onto them. I’m very physical.’
Ford compares himself to Alexander McQueen and Nicolas Ghesquière saying: ‘I am very much a designer but I am not an artist and I have never pretended to be.’
