Are short suits a genuine threat to the workplace?

shortsuit.jpgAs part of their monthly crusade to change the way we think about menswear, GQ’s latest issue is trying to convince the great British public to embrace a look exclusively reserved for schoolboys under 11 and runway models – short suits.

Topman claim the trend is already gathering pace, with their checked blazer/short combo flying off the shelves (although how likely is it they’re being bought as a set rather than individual pieces?)

Both the Telegraph and the BBC sent reporters out yesterday to test the waters. Although not exactly ideal models to judge the look on, the response wasn’t unanimously negative…

If you’re feeling brave, going sockless with the right pair of boat shoes or slip-ons and a ridiculous amount of self-confident swagger might help the cause.

Well I don’t think the papers have done this suit any justice, it looks great if it is styled properly, I have got one and the reactions to mine were very postitive. Channel 5 news showed a better way to wear it on Friday, with a nice navy version from Topman, I might pop in to get that one as well!
