Celeb Style: Ashton Kutcher at ‘Flawless’ Premiere

By Will Reid on December 2nd, 2008

ashton kutcher demi moore flawless film premiere.jpgAshton Kutcher is one of my low-key style icons. Firstly, he started out as a model and it was he who introduced the now infamous ‘trucker cap’ to the fashion scene. Rumours were rife of a fashion collaboration when he was spotted note-taking in the front rows of fashion weeks and now he has provided us with even more style inspiration.

At the premiere of Demi Moore’s new film, ‘Flawless,’ Ashton was a picture of muted luxury with his regal red tie, opulent tweed coat and not-too-flashy Louis Vuitton scarf. This is a look that anyone can copy this Winter!

Oh Dear- Is Someone Feeling The Credit Crunch?

By Will Reid on December 2nd, 2008

ramsey.jpgYesterday we saw Jamie Hince donning a rather hobo-chic look and today we hear that Tony Simm, a Gordon Ramsay lookalike (emm…not quite,) has come forward to tell the world of how he is being verbally attacked as a result of the famous TV Chef’s supposed-affair.

Simm, aged 50, tells the Daily Mail that “everyone used to like him, and being his double meant I’d get lots of good attention everytime I left the house. But since the news of him and his alleged mistress hit the headlines, I’ve been called a love cheat by about 50 angry women of all ages.”

Simm also states that “it’s great that people are confusing me with the real deal, but I must admit I’m not totally happy about the fallout this has created.” Well, I guess that’s another reason to not give up the day job.

It’s different for boys: Jamie Hince, more shabby than chic?

Looking at this image of Jamie Hince stepping after a night at girlfriend Kate Moss‘ flat I started thinking about how the Croydon-born model always manages to look chic and stylish is shabby rock-y vintage while Hince looks a little raggedy.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure the sight of me on a Sunday morning in pjs scuttling to the newsie is far, far worse but the point I’m trying to make is that women are armed with an array of stylistic tools. Mixing mussed up hair with a fancy dress, or shabby jeans with a flashy jewellery has long been Moss’ preserve. When a man dresses scruffy he isn’t in possession of as much to work with to make those well-worn basics look smart, by replacing the well-worn suede boots with a pair of new shoes or the Britpop-era jacket with a duffel coat Hince could have gone from scuzzy to artfully skewhiff.

Famous Brioni fans have included Cary Grant (pictured above), Clark Gable and up until a couple of years ago, James Bond.
