Browns, the inimitable high fashion store of South Molton Street have opened a mens shoe store on nearby Brook Street. Billed modestly as ‘probably the best mens shoe store in the world’, the newly opened shoe emporium promises a distinct experience with comfy sofas, complimentary refreshments and free wi-fi. Of course, being Browns, the shoe selection is the very top-end of the market with Lanvin, Dries van Noten, Jil Sander and Bottega Veneta on offer so not the place to come for kick-arounds. But if you are looking for investment footwear for a special occasion, the great service and glam setting here will only add to the buzz of investing in something special. After all, shoes are one fashion purchase that are generally worth the extra splash – what other item can cause physical pain if they’re cheaply made or not a perfect fit, or have such an impact on your overall outfit? Browns mens shoe store joins other luxury mens shoe outlets in the area such as Poste on South Molton Street but is clearly out to make its (foot) mark on the mens shoe scene.
