In order to mark the arrival of Oliver Spencer’s collection at My-Wardrobe.com, the young British designer has produced a special one-off exclusive to the online retailer.
Rendered in a subtle check fabric from a mill in Northern Italy, the Gardeners’ Jacket is an unstructured garment with a utilitarian feel: four buttons, two large patch pockets, a smaller ticket pocket and a chest pocket with flap.
Made in London with the my-wardrobe.com customer in mind, only six of these jackets have been produced. I must admit I quite like it, though for over £300 maybe I would be expecting something, well, a little more flashy. Still, it does look simple and stylish and at least you can be sure not to bump into loads of other people wearing the same design.
Oliver Spencer started designing at just 22 years old and since then his menswear collections have gone from strength to strength, with The Rolling Stones among the brand’s many fans. Drawing inspiration from hunting, fishing and also a touch of Americana, Oliver Spencer’s pieces – reckon My-Wardrobe.com – boast an attention to detail and quirky design, bridging the gap between smart and casual.
