Annie Leibovitz and Kevin McKidd team up for The Macallan Masters of Photography

I’m not one to say no to quality whisky and when accompanied with excellent photography, now that is a combination I can’t help but to share. Luxury whisky brand The Macallan has just announced details of its Masters of Photography series for 2012 and it’s a real treat.

In previous years the brand has worked with Rankin and Albert Watson, but this year they have topped the lot by lining up Annie Leibovitz, who has taken thousands of iconic images over the decades.

Annie has shot Scottish actor Kevin McKidd, who is best known for Grey’s Anatomy and Trainspotting (if I remember rightly he was the sporty one who ended up with the terminal crack problem), in a series of locations across New York, and they look rather amazing.

Apparently the images will feature on limited edition vintage whisky bottle out soon – you can find more details on those here.

Interestingly, before he became an actor Kevin McKidd was once an employee at The Macallan, so I guess they must have treated him well.
