It must feel like Groundhog Day if you are an Arsenal fan at the moment. Each morning brings the promise of fresh transfers news, but with the season already weeks behind us the Gunners have only really signed one player Yaya Sanogo.
Yet there is slightly more positive news coming out of Italy today today. And that revolves around Juve’s possible signing of Carlos Tevez. If it does get confirmed it will mean that the club have two high profile new-ish strikers in Fernando Llorente and the Argentinian. That will mean less money, or less requirement at least to spend on Arsenal targets Higuain and maybe even Jovetic.
Tezez transfers have a habit of going awry at the moment you think they are done though, so watch this space.
There’s also no real update on the future of Everton’s Belgian star Marouane Fellaini. The Daily Mail has a story on how the player is keen to come to Arsenal and that the club are willing to meet his £22 million release clause. The sticking point appears to be his wages with Fellaini after £100k a week plus to put him on the same level as Podolski and Walcott. If it is down to wages then surely a deal can be thrashed out.
The Bleacher Report has a story on why it thinks that the Belgian would be the perfect summer signing for the club. I’d be surprised if many Arsenal fans felt differently.
