It’s been confirmed! Manchester City agree to sign Porto midfielder Fernando for a reported fee of around £12m. The two clubs were in discussion over the Brazilian born midfielder back in January and City were said to be signing him on transfer deadline day. However, a fee could not be agreed and the move collapsed.
Now, City have revived their interest in the midfielder and will be close to announcing the signing of their new man very soon.
Fernando will join the lengthy list of midfielder’s in his position with the likes of: Yaya Toure, Javi Garcia and Fernandinho to compete for a place in the middle of the park.
Manchester City have been restricted to a net spend of £49m after breaching regulations surrounding transfers; they may have found a real bargin buy in Fernando who could prove to be a indispensable signing for the Premier League champions.
