Liverpool to steal Balotelli out of the clutches of Arsenal?

With it now official that Liverpool have opened talks with Barcelona over the future of Luis Suarez, it is now believed by the Daily Express that they could be set to hunt Mario Balotelli.

Mario Balotelli has been heavily linked with a move back to the Premier League with Arsenal but with Arsene Wenger quiet on the speculation, it is now thought Brendan Rodgers may make an offer. Balotelli’s agent has added fuel to the fire after saying, “Maybe it was a mistake to bring Mario back to Italy. For him it is essential to go where he is loved, and at AC Milan some people love him and some do not.”

Balotelli has something of a bad boy reputation after a turbulent time in Britain with Manchester City but it cannot be doubted he has immense goal scoring talents. Super Mario has 26 goals in 43 Serie A games whilst notching 13 in 33 for his country, Italy.

This deal is of course dependant on Suarez but could prove good business for Liverpool with fees suggested around £80m for Suarez and only £30m for Balotelli. It will be interesting to see whether this interest will spark a bidding war between Liverpool and Arsenal in the coming weeks.
