Highly rated defender Dejan Lovren is a player who is under the eyes of Arsenal and Liverpool. However, in a surprise late move, Tottenham have supposedly hi-jacked the deal and are said to be leading the way to secure the Croatian’s signature according to The Express.
Apparently upset at the exit of Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino to Spurs; Lovren is keen to reunite with his former boss at White Hart Lane.
As Southampton get ready to lose another key player along with: Rickie Lambert, Luke Shaw & Adam Lallana. Lovren looks set to depart from St Mary’s and Southampton fans may worry their side will be unable to recreate their impressive last season.
The defender was a key part of Pochettino’s plans last season, making 31 appearances and scoring 3 goals in his debut season in the Premier League.
From Spurs perspective, they will welcome the addition of some quality in defence with some new blood as the likes of: Kaboul and Dawson have been in and around the squad for a while. A team that should be competing for the top 4, they will welcome any quality additions they can.
Lovren definitely will provide quality and stability in the heart of the Spurs defence.
