Liverpool bid rejected for Saints defender

According to Team Talk, Southampton have rejected an £18m bid from Liverpool for Croatian defender, Dejan Lovren.

The Croat is said to be keen to link up again with former team-mates, Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert who both made the switch to Merseyside this summer.

The Saints are said to be holding out for £25m which they have priced their indispensable centre half at. Southampton signed Lovren for £8.5m from French side Lyon last year and are hoping to make a huge profit from the Croatian who featured at the 2014 Brazil World Cup this summer.

Liverpool have been pro-active already this summer, signing Lambert, Lallana and Can whilst there are a host of world class names still in the hat which have been linked with the Reds.

Brendan Rodgers is clearly fashioning a side that is ready to out-do themselves from last season and ready to challenge for the Premier League title.

Will Lovren be apart of Rodgers side next season?
