Manchester United will have to increase their bid from the £4m already offered if they wish to secure the services of Feyenoord’s Daryl Janmaat. The Metro report that an offer of closer to £7m will be needed to bring him to Old Trafford this summer.
Janmaat has impressed for the Netherlands in their World Cup group games playing all 3 matches but is yet to take part in the knockout stages as yet. Janmaat has represented his country on 19 occasions after making his debut against Turkey in September 2012.
This would be the 24 year old’s first move outside of Holland after playing for ADO Den Haag in the Eerste Divisie (second tier) and Heerenveen and Feyenoord in the Eredivisie. He played 30 league games last season scoring twice but only has one trophy to his name, the KVNB Cup, won with Heerenveen in 2009.
Janmaat will of course be linking up with his national team manager if he joins Manchester United as Louis Van Gaal will step down from the Netherlands role at the end of the World Cup to take control of the Red Devils in the Premier League. Newcastle United are also said to be interested and this may force Manchester United to act quickly.
