Former Chelsea hero Didier Droga is reportedly on the verge of signing for Italian giants Juventus according to Tuttosport. Drogba is currently a free agent after his contract with Galatasaray expired.
Didier Drogba, 36 years old, scored 100 goals in 226 Premier League appearances for Chelsea and was a key member of Jose Mourinho’s ‘old guard’. He spent 8 years at Stamford Bridge and with his last ever kick in a Chelsea first, won the Champions League by netting the winning penalty.
After his time in Britain, Drogba moved to Shanghai Shenhua in China where he scored 8 in 11 games and last season was at Turkish club Galatasaray where he found the net 15 times in 37 games. Talk was circulating that Jose Mourinho may have brought him back to England to bolster his squad’s back ups but it appears he will join Juventus instead.
Drogba has played 104 times for the Ivory Coast for whom he has scored 65 times. He played all 3 matches at this summer’s World Cup but his nation were eliminated by a late Greece goal in the group stages.
Juventus are also thought to be looking at Manchester United full-back Patrice Evra.
