Brendan Rodgers is preparing to raid his old club for young left-back Ben Davies. The Daily Telegraph that Liverpool will be ready to use some of the £75m gained from the sale of Luis Suarez to fund a £10m move for the welshman.
Suarez is expected to complete his move to Barcelona this week, despite his 4 month ban from football being upheld by FIFA after an appeal. Liverpool have already added Adam Lallana & Rickie Lambert from Southampton and Emre Can from Bayer Leverkusen. They look set to complete deals for Lazer Markovic from Benfica and Divock Origi of Lille as well as bidding for Southampton’s Dejan Lovren. Ben Davies is the newest addition to that shopping list as the Red prepare for life back in the Champions League.
Ben Davies, 21, is a welsh international who has played 10 times for his country. He was born in Neath, just down the road from Swansea and since breaking into the first team in 2012 has made an impressive 70 Premier League appearances.
Davies is currently with Garry Monk’s Swans squad on their tour of America but the club would be set to answer some phone calls about their prized left-back as Liverpool and Spurs begin to circle with £10m in their hands.
