Bony moving closer to Liverpool switch

Sky Sports sources have indicated that Swansea striker Wilfried Bony is moving closer to a move to Liverpool. Liverpool have target Bony as one replacement for Luis Suarez who looks set to leave for Barcelona.

The Ivory Coast international is said to be keen on a move to Anfield as Bony’s agent has met with Liverpool to discuss personal terms. Liverpool have claimed that a potential deal is close and Bony could be the start of a new wave of attacking options flooding into Anfield.

Bony joined Swansea last season for a club record fee of £12m and set the Premier League alight. Skilful, powerful and a goalscorer – Bony has all the attributes to be a top quality striker. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has clearly seen enough of Bony to be happy to have placed a bid in for the Swansea man who has only played one season for his English club. With 16 goals in 34 appearances, Bony averages a goal every other game.

Liverpool are looking to bring in a different type of striker to accompany Lambert and Sturridge who currently occupy the front line in Merseyside.

As the deal looks to move ever closer, what are Liverpool fans reaction of their potential new signing?

Based on the stats Bony is a very good buy . He is a young player with a huge future . Tough holding player .i was particularly worried that LFC did not have enough cover in case one of their strikers get injured particularly injury prone Sturridge . This is some shrewd business . I still think we should bring in Karima Benzema or some similar marquee signing , together with a left back and a center back and then we are good to go .

Bony will cost less than Benzema, with only 20m spent, they can spend the remaining on a supporting striker like Reus.
