Loanee sensation Fabio Borini could make a quick return to Wearside this summer as Sunderland have raced in with an £8m for the Italian and Liverpool striker according to the Daily Mail.
Borini who has already done the rounds in the Premier League despite only 23-years-old has played for Chelsea, Swansea, Liverpool and Sunderland. Now, it looks like Borini’s stay in the north could be permanent as Sunderland manager Gus Poyet is eager to bring back the Italian.
The Liverpool striker scored 7 goals in 32 appearances whilst on loan and was a key player in keeping up Sunderland in what was classed as a miraculous “great escape”.
Borini scored the winner against West Brom to ensure that the Black Cats remained a Premier League side for another season and it seems Poyet wants to attract that desire and hunger once again.
Liverpool may be inclined to cash in for Borini who has struggled to settle and claim a spot in the first team in Merseyside. With the sale of Suarez imminent; Liverpool looks set to strengthen in the attacking areas for big money and it doesn’t seem likely that Borini will feature.
After missing out on Sanchez, Liverpool will scout the network again for another target.
Can Borini finally settle at a club and fill the potential he has been touted with?
