Chinese iPhone 6 clones are already on sale

Users of Weibo have spotted a number of fake models (pictured) claiming to be the next-generation device on sites such as China's Taobao. The hardware appears to match many of the rumours circulating about the phone, but experts believe the software is instead a skinned version of Android

Why bother waiting for the iPhone 6 to launch, when you can just buy a cheap knock-off from China? The much anticipated handset hasn’t even been announced yet, but that hasn’t stopped people from trying to sell fake versions on Chinese retail websites like Taobao. How much are they? Around £18, so don’t expect a two-year warranty.

The fakes look an awful lot like the iPhone 5S rather than what we think the iPhone 6 will look like. It also appears to be running iOS 7, but many experts believe that it’s simply a very convincing Android skin.
