Tottenham are set to lose out on the signing of French winger Mathieu Valbuena as Marseille have accepted a £5.5m bid from Russian side Dynamo Moscow.
The 29-year-old was a target for Spurs along with two other Premier League sides, Arsenal and West Ham. However, it seemed Tottenham were favourites to secure the French winger who now looks ready to make the move to Russia.
Valbuena was a constant threat for France in their World Cup campaign and the winger was drawing a lot of attention after some glistening performances from the Marseille midfielder.
Valbuena, who was ready to move away from Marseille was touted as a big transfer target for the Premier League which saw Tottenham leading the way for his signature. However, recent reports from talkSPORT have revealed that Valbuena is nearing the completion of his move to Moscow.
Spurs will be keen to land new signings soon, as new man at the helm Pochettino, looks to re-shuffle the Tottenham squad he has at his disposal.
