West Ham are nearing the completion of Ecuador striker, Enner Valencia from Mexican side Pachuca.
The Hammers are looking to strengthen their attacking options. The arrival of Valencia would give West Ham another dimension to their play as offering as support for Carroll and new signing Mauro Zarate up-front.
The 24-year-old scored three times at the World Cup in Brazil and was Ecuador’s stand out performer. West Ham boss Sam Allerdyce evidently liked what he saw of the big powerful striker and wanted him.
BBC Sport have today reported that Valencia has arrived in London for a medical ahead of the move which should be finalised by the end of the week. A deal said to be in the region of £15m, Valencia will bring about a certain amount of expectancy with him after bagging 18 goals in 23 appearances for his club last season.
Should Valencia complete his move to West Ham, it would be the Premier League sides fifth signing of the transfer window already as Allerdyce is looking to bring about some needed changes to the squad for the coming season.
