BlackBerry has announced that version 10.3 of its mobile operating system will include a voice assistant aptly named BlackBerry Assistant. They might be a little late to the party now that Siri, Google Now, and Cortana all exist, but it’s better late than never.
BlackBerry Assistant’s features will include setting voice reminders, and searching through your email and calendar. All of these functions are voice activated, and you can do it without leaving the app you’re in.
It’s not exactly going to convert people who don’t already use a BlackBerry, but it’s a useful feature to have for the company’s small dedicated consumer base, and might stop some of them from switching teams. [BlackBerry via CNET]
