Chelsea have now stepped up their chase to sign Arsenal target, Sami Khedira.
Speculation has surrounded the two clubs who are heavily interested in the German midfielder, but it appeared the Gunners were favourites to sign Khedira.
However, Chelsea have now reported they are ready to offload Nigerian midfielder John Obi Mikel to create space for Khedira in their ranks.
The Express have reported that Chelsea are looking to hi-jack the deal from Arsenal’s grasp after Khedira’s exit from Madrid was made even more of a reality after the Spanish club completed the deal to sign former Bayern Munich midfielder, Toni Kroos today.
Mourinho had been interested in signing Paul Pogba from Italian giants, Juventus. However, with a price tag of £60m, Chelsea have been put off the Frenchman and have now turned their undivided attention towards Khedira.
With an ever-growing list of midfielder’s at Stamford Bridge, the arrival of Khedira would be too much and something would have to give. It appears that something, is Mikel. Out of favour and looking set to leave the Blues, Mikel would be the first to leave should the German make a switch to Chelsea.
An exciting transfer saga which takes another twist.
