Chelsea are prepared to listen to offers for Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku but it will cost clubs €40m to capture his signature according to insidefutbol.com.
Lukaku signed for Chelsea from Anderlecht in 2011 and has always been held in high esteem with likenesses being made to Didier Drogba. Since then he has made 10 Premier League appearances for Chelsea and spent 2 seasons out on loan at West Brom and Everton. Whilst proving himself as capable it is believed Jose Mourinho doesn’t consider him amongst his first choice players as Diego Costa was added from Atletico Madrid. For this reason Roman Abramovich has said €40 is the price to prize him away from Stamford Bridge.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez has already admitted he’d love to resign the striker who notched 15 goals in 31 league games for his side last time out. Whilst Merseyside rivals Liverpool wish to return to Chelsea after finding success with the purchase of then out-of-sort Daniel Sturridge who is now England’s first choice striker. Meanwhile Juventus’ new boss Max Allegri has joined the race and hopes to persuade him to move to Serie A.
Lukaku scored 17 in 35 on loan at West Brom and netted 15 times in 31 games last year for Everton, a record any forward in the Premier League could be proud of. If Chelsea let him go it could be a move they regret as the Belgian, who is only 21, has a bright future ahead of him.
