A gesture controlled digital canvas is art for the 21st century

Paintings are a little bit old fashioned aren’t they? Still pictures that don’t do anything? Where’s the fun in that? Don’t get me started on how much room they all take up. Well if you have a few hundred pounds to spare, you can buy yourself a digital canvas. Not only will it store artwork in one display, you can interact with it using gestures.

Framed is currently on Kickstarter and wants the funding to be able to make the digital canvas a reality. $400 (£234) will nab you an 24-inch model, and if you have more money than sense you can buy 40-inch and 55-inch models for $1,500 (£879) and $10,000 (£5,857) respectively. For those of you without that kind of money, there is a smartphone app but it’ll cost you a $75 (£44) pledge.

All models come with built-in Wi-Fi, a 720p front facing camera, motion sensors, and are expected to be shipping this November. [Kickstarter via Engadget]
