There’s never been any doubt that the iPhone 6 is going to sell well, but the expectations for high sales have had Apples suppliers working overtime to meet the probable demand. That’s producing between 70 and 80 million units before the 30th December. For reference the initial number of iPhone 5S and 5C units ordered was between 50 and 60 million.
Other sources claim that suppliers are being asked to prepare up to 120 million devices before the end of the year to alleviate issues from displays that fail. That doesn’t sound too good now does it?
Of course the sources of this information are credited as being “people familiar with the matter”, so we have to be cautious about believing it. This is the internet after all. [Wall Street Journal via Slashgear]
