Southampton’s squad is quickly depleting without trace. Lambert, Shaw and Lallana have all left with Calum Chambers the latest addition to be leaving as he is set to join Arsenal. Now, key defender Dejan Lovren looks to end the speculation surrounding him as he has reportedly set for a medical at Liverpool after Southampton accepted a £20m bid for the Croat.
The 25-year-old who represented Croatia at the World Cup in Brazil this summer has publicly announced his desire to leave St Mary’s and join Liverpool.
According to BBC Sport, Lovren is now set to link up with former team-mates, Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert as they help Liverpool achieve Premier League success.
Speaking in the wake of the potential move, the Croat inisted -“Frankly, my head is already at Liverpool.”
New Saints manager, Ronald Koeman has insisted that Saints fans should not worry as he is about to unveil a replacement for Lovren. One thing that can console Southampton fans is the vast amount of profit they are making from these sales. The transfer kitty will be overflowing with millions, however, I am sure all Saints fans would rather have held onto their star players from last season.
As Liverpool once again look to raid Southampton for their best talent, manager Brendan Rodgers will be delighted with his dealings so far this transfer window.
