Southampton’s mass exodus looks to continue as Spurs are closing in on Saints duo, Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez. Talks are ongoing between the two clubs and a fee is yet to be agreed.
According to BBC Sport Schneiderlin and Rodriguez are ready to make the switch to London as Southampton’s depleting squad continues. Today, Calum Chambers left St. Mary’s to move to Arsenal with Dani Osvaldo also looking ready to move on.
Mauricio Pochettino looks set to sign two of his former players that he worked with at his time at Southampton and has identified them as players who can improve his current squad.
Ronald Koeman has got his work cut out as the list continues: Lambert, Lallana, Shaw, Chambers & Lovren have all left for pastures new and Osvaldo, Schneiderlin and Rodriguez could follow them.
So far, the Saints have accumilated £92m from player sales and will look to splash the cash in order to purchase new quality in a desperate aid to get numbers back up in the squad.
Today, new Southampton manager Koeman had a little joke on Twitter after posting this picture…
