Southampton’s depleting squad looks set to continue into the summer as their big name players are being snatched away by Premier League competitors.
However, Ronald Koeman is hoping to rebuild his side with quality and has identified Arsenal pair, Serge Gnabry and Carl Jenkinson as two players can begin to help his side back on track according to The Mirror.
Southampton have so far lost Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw, Calum Chambers and Dejan Lovren with Jay Rodriguez and Morgan Schneiderlin on the verge of a move to Spurs.
As the players leave, one thing that Koeman will have in abundance is a healthy transfer kitty. The Dutch manager may be inclined to use as much of that kitty as possible to bring about more exciting players to St Mary’s to fill the void of their lost stars.
Gnabry and Jenkinson emulate the kind of player Koeman is looking for; neat, pacey and slick footballers who exude attractive football. Whilst a deal for Jenkinson could be made permanent after Arsenal completed the signing of Calum Chambers yesterday; Wenger may feel less inclined to sell Gnabry and may only want to loan the German midfielder.
The Saints will want to bring in some quality soon as their squad size is diminishing by the day. However, Southampton fans will want their manager to buy carefully and not for the sake of brining in another body.
Who will Southampton be able to attract?
