Javier Hernández close to Man Utd exit?

Reports emerged yesterday that Manchester United’s Mexican striker Javier Hernández could be on his way to La Liga. The Guardian quote the committed Christian as saying “The future, only God knows” as Atlético Madrid step up their interest.

Earlier we said how rumours were linking Edinson Cavani to Manchester United from PSG and this would mean Chicharito would then fall behind Robin Van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Edinson Cavani in the United pecking order.

Whilst new boss Louis Van Gaal favours two forwards up front it is believed Chicharito would still be limited in first team appearances and so a rescue by Atléti boss Diego Simeone could be beneficial for him. Simeone was quoted as saying “He’s a vertical player, he’s great in one-on-one situations and he’s someone who could be useful to any team.”

Hernández has scored 36 goals in 66 caps for his country and 37 in 101 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils; most of those United games though have come from the bench. Atlético have already brought in Mario Mandzukic from Bayern Munich this summer to replace Diego Costa so we await to see if Hernández will also make the move to Spain.
