Rumours have existed all summer that Brendan Rodgers is chasing Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno and now Ryan Bertrand (an alternative target) has joined Southampton, it is though Liverpool will turn back to the Spaniard.
The Daily Mail believe Liverpool are willing to offer £14m but a potential stumbling block is the the £20m valuation by Sevilla. Liverpool have loaned Iago Aspas to the Spanish club and hope that a decent relationship with the management will work in their favour as negotiations progress.
Moreno is 22 years old and has played 45 La Liga games for the full squad after spending his youth career at the club. The Seville born defender also has 3 full Spanish caps and narrowly missed out on the 2014 World Cup when he was cut from the final squad after being named in 30-man provisional team.
It is believed Sevilla wish to hold onto the youngster till August 12th when they play Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup in Cardiff City Stadium. Following then we may be seeing a deal get much closer as Liverpool further bolster their side with their return to the Championship League in September.
