The Korea Times is reporting that Samsung is set to official reveal the Galaxy Note 4 to the world on the 3rd September, just a few days before the IFA tech conference in Berlin.

Samsung is also reportedly going to make its new phablet on sale soon after the announcement. Why the rush? Reports say that Samsung feels threatened by the rumoured large-screened iPhone 6, which could eat into the phablet market. Since the company has reported an overall decline in smartphone sales, it’s hardly surprising that it wants to get its new devices out into the world as soon as it can.

If previous leaks and rumours are to be believed, the Galaxy note with have a 5.7-inch QHD AMOLED display, an octa-core Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 16MP camera. Some rumours have suggested that the device could have a curved screen, but reports have suggested that this will be a variant limited to certain markets. [The Korea Times via VR-Zone]
