Arturo Vidal’s £47m move to Old Trafford was seemingly delt a cryptic blow yesterday when the Chilean posted the above picture on his Instagram. The Daily Mail also report new Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal is concerned over Vidal’s fitness following surgery in May that saw him rushed back to competitive matches for the World Cup.
Whilst the fee has been agreed in principle and Vidal is apparently happy to make the move to England and Chilean coach Jorge Sampaoli believes the medical is what is delaying the deal: ‘I know that the main problem in Vidal’s $80m (£47m) transfer from Juventus to Manchester United is Louis van Gaal’s doubt over the improvement of Arturo’s knee”.
Meanwhile the new man at the helm in Juventus, Massimiliano Allegri has claimed both Vidal and Paul Pogba are happy in Turin as he desperately attempts to hold onto his two biggest superstars.
Vidal has represented his country on 54 occasions scoring 8 goals and the midfielder has made 95 Serie A appearances for the Italian champions since joining the club in July 2011 for €10.5m. This means any transfer of the value suggested would mean great business for Juventus but also a significant blow to the strength of their squad. Where does Vidal’s future lie? We’ll be sure to find out in the coming weeks.
