Sky Sports have today reported that West Ham United are very interested in Sunderland striker, Connor Wickham.
The Hammers have been dealt a huge blow after Andy Carroll has been told he will be out for the foreseeable future. West Ham have already signed Enner Valencia but are still looking to bolster their attacking options.
Now it appears that they are ready to lure in former Ipswich Town striker, Connor Wickham. The young striker was a sensation at the end of last season for Sunderland as he helped guide them to a great escape and beat the drop.
Wickham is touted as a future star for club and country and maybe a move to West Ham will help ignite his career after he fell out of favour at Sunderland. A host of loan moves to the Championship haven’t helped Wickham settle and now it appears he could be off to London.
Tall, strong, quick and a natural finisher, Wickham would fit into the West Ham style nicely and would be a perfect replacement for the injured Andy Carroll.
With international hopes on the horizon, could Wickham move to be a Hammer to help his chances of success with England in the future?
