Even with the brightness turned all the way up it can be a bit of a pain if you’re outside on a sunny day. Fortunately the latest rumours are that Apple will be releasing a new version of both the iPad Air and the iPad Mini later this year, and both will have anti-glare displays.

Currently it’s not 100 per cent clear what exactly will be involved, but it’s worth noting that Apple has used similar terminology in the past when talking about the iPhone and the iMac.

In other news it further corroborates the fact that the iPad Air and the iPad Mini will be getting a refresh before the year’s end. Bloomberg claims that they’re already in production. Details are scarce, but they will reportedly include an updated version of th TouchID system first included in the iPhone 5S. [Bloomberg]
