Arsenal are apparently lining up a shock move for former QPR midfielder and current free agent Stephane Mbia.
The 28-year-old was released at the end of last season by the newly promoted side and is now seeking a new club. However, Arsenal have come in as a surprise destination for Mbia according to the Daily Star.
Mbia was loaned out to Europa League Champions Sevilla last season and clocked up 30 appearances for the Spanish side as he helped guide them to European glory.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have also been heavily linked with moves for Sami Khedira and Cheick Tiote in recent days, but now it seems their attention has turned to the cheaper option of Mbia.
Premier League trio, Newcastle, West Ham and Crystal Palace are also reportedly said to be monitoring Mbia as an official bid from any club is yet to be made.
What seems a bizarre choice from Wenger and Arsenal, would Gunners fans be happy with Mbia at the Emirates this summer?
Would they want him over Khedira or Tiote?
