Raheem Sterling is only 19 years of age but he already has 57 Liverpool Premier League appearances and a World Cup behind him. Now, the Daily Mirror report he is set to have his £30,000-per-week contract quadrupled by the club!

Sterling broke into Rodgers’ squad in 2012/13 with 24 Premier League appearances and 2 goals. However, his finishing came under some criticism with some fans still seeing him as too young to make a major impact. In 2013/14 though he won thousands of admirers with some fantastic displays in his 30 league matches and 9 goals too.

His £30,000-a-week contract still has 3 years left to go but as reports circulate that Spanish giants Real Madrid are interested it seems the management at Anfield want to tie one of their prize assets down. With a second place in the league last season, Liverpool wish to kick on with the added pressure of the Champions League and Sterling will be an important factor in that.

His manager spoke of his ability in the build up to the big season kick of vs Southampton: “This kid is only going to get better. He’s way above the level from when he first came in. Tactically, technically, and what has been beautiful to watch with Raheem has been his maturity.”

Raheem could be a key figure for your fantasy team too and is one of our five to watch, check out the other four players here!
