Manchester United ready to sign £100m player

Reports are suggesting that Manchester United are ready to launch an outrageous bid for Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria. According to the Daily Mail, United will bid mega bucks to sign the Argentinian.

United are in desperate need of world class talent after falling short on Van Gaal’s first home match in charge of the Red Devils after suffering a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Swansea.

With a number of key players left or injured, Van Gaal is turning his attention to the transfer market and in particular, Di Maria. However, the astounding figure of £100m seems a ludicrous amount of money to spend on one player, though it will definitely show Van Gaal’s intentions and his desperation should they bring him in.

United are ready to spend £200k on the wingers wages and tie him down to a 5-year-deal to help lure him to Old Trafford. Meaning the total transfer would be in excess of £100m, something that Madrid will want to cash in on right away seeing as Di Maria is currently out of the first team with thanks to latest signing James Rodriguez.

Could United complete the deal as soon as this week and will look to continue their spending spree as they search for a new striker.

Would United fans welcome Di Maria to Old Trafford and for this amount of money?

Unbelievable. What makes ANYONE think that Di Maria is a central defender?
After Shaw and Herrera were signed in June, nothing. Nearly two months to get signings and no one has arrived. Vidic and Ferdinand may have been the wrong side of 30, but they spent less time on the treatment table than Smalling, Jones and Evans.
ED, pull your finger out, pay the FULL ASKING PRICE, and sign the following
Benatia (or Hummels), Rojo (or Blind), Cuadrado, Vidal (or Guarin), Carvalho (or Strootman) and maybe Di Maria (or Reus)
We must sign at least 5 players from this list to have a chance in the PL for 2014/15
