Manchester United target and Sporting defender, Marcus Rojo has given the biggest indication yet that he is soon to be a Manchester United player after quoting on Argentinian radio; “It feels like a dream, to be a Manchester United player. Leaving Sporting wasn’t easy. I have always liked English football, I’ll have to adapt quickly to the playing style.”
However, despite this claim, Sky Sports yesterday reported that Rojo had apologised for his behaviour and is sorry for attempting to encourage his exit from the Portuguese club.
“I was hot-headed and I’m sorry,” said Rojo over his refusal to train. “I’ll be back with the rest of the [Sporting] squad tomorrow [Monday]. Sporting signed me when I was not at my best and gave me the opportunity to play for a big club in Europe. I would like to thank the trust they had in me and I will resume training on Monday.”
So it seems Rojo has made amends at Sporting but for how long? Surely it is only a matter of time before United come looking to secure the services of the Argentinian defender.
As speculation hots up, it looks as though any deal could be imminent for United fans.
Would you welcome Rojo to Old Trafford?
