Manchester United midfielder, Anderson has been tipped for a surprise move which would see him link up with former United team-mate Nani.

The Express have suggested that Sporting are ready to issue a £5.5m bid for the Brazilian, who like Nani, has struggled to adapt to life at Old Trafford since his arrival.

The money from the Rojo deal as well as not having to pay Nani’s wages would help cover the costs of the transfer. The Portuguese side have lost their star defender to the Manchester side, but it appears that the Red Devils are happy to reimburse Sporting through the sales of Nani and Anderson.

Anderson has failed to live-up to the sizeable £20m price-tag Sir Alex Ferguson paid for him seven seasons ago.And has scored just five goals in over a century of appearances for the 13-time Premier League champions.

The 26-year-old failed to make an impression in his six-month loan spell with Italian side Fiorentina, playing just seven games, and again – failed to register a single goal.Lisbon are now poised to take advantage of Louis Van Gaal’s vague acknowledgement of the Brazilian’s talents.
